Have a Blissful Night’s Sleep With Reiki

Lack of sleep is a common experience for many people in the UK. Lack of sleep can be a result of many things and with our busy lives, family demands and life stresses it’s no wonder that some of us miss out on the recommended 8 hours sleep a night.

Missing out on a good night’s sleep doesn’t just make you tired, either. Studies have shown that not getting enough shut-eye can increase your risk of anxiety and depression as well as having a negative effect on your skin and daily lives with reduced cognitive ability, concentration and negative changes in your mood.

If you find yourself wide awake hours after you’ve turned the lights out, despite going to bed early, you may find you could benefit from a Reiki treatment. Reiki is a non-invasive, gentle treatment that balances the client’s life-force energy, resulting in a state of calm and relaxation as well as improving their health and wellbeing. With this in mind, it’s no surprise that Reiki can be a successful treatment for those who suffer with insomnia, sleepless nights and other sleep disorders brought on by stress and other life issues.

Reiki treatments heal the whole body and balances the mind, emotions, body and spirt in order to heal any physical issues that the patient may be experiencing. This is because holistic healing is based on the grounds that illnesses start in non-physical areas of the body, i.e. unbalanced chakras (places in the body where the energy flows through), before manifesting themselves on a physical level having been left untreated over a period of time.

Once in my relaxing treatment room I will begin to place my hands above your body, often lightly touching specific areas where your chakras are located. In your relaxed state you will naturally allow the energy to flow to the areas where it is most needed by your body. You will begin to feel relieved of stress and tension which will improve your breathing, heart rate and blood pressure, indicating a shift into PNS (parasympathetic nervous system) self-healing mode.

This is exactly what will help your body repair itself and enable you to get a restful night’s sleep. Reaching a relaxed state like this will naturally make it easier for you to drift peacefully into the land of nod at bedtime. Sometimes one treatment is all you need to disperse any tension that your mind and body may be holding onto, but other people find that they benefit from a few treatments.
